What is Inkless Stretch Marks Revision (ISR)?

Inkless Stretch Marks Revision (ISR) is a gentle, non-invasive procedure for anyone ready to see real improvement in their stretch marks. Using a tattoo machine (with no pigment) to create tiny micro-channels in your skin, allows a powerful, customized serum to deeply absorb. This process not only nourishes the skin but also kick-starts your body’s own healing response, stimulating fresh collagen and elastin production.

Where on my body can I have this done?

ISR can be done on any stretch mark on the body.

How long after my stretch marks have formed can I have this done?

ISR can be done around one year after stretch marks have formed, unless there is still weight gain happening. If a stretch mark is still red, pink or purple, it is still healing.

How long do results lasts?

As long as you maintain a stable weight and your overall health stays consistent with when you received the treatment, you can enjoy the results for many years.

Does it hurt?

Everyone has a different threshold for pain, however ISR is typically on the lower end of the scale. Numbing is not usually used in ISR as the technique is gentle and I do not spend much time in the same area. If you experience discomfort while I am working, I will apply a light numbing to get you through ☺.

How long in between appointments?

Following the treatment, redness in the stretch marks will subside around 4-6 weeks, at this point you will be ready for your next session. Darker skin types may require 3-6 months in between appointments. Week 4 you will send me progress photos so we can stay connected and continue with a proper treatment plan.

How many sessions will I need?

Results can be seen in as little as one treatment, however the average treatment is between one and four.

I have a tan, do I need to let it fade before having this done?

Since we are not color matching with a pigment, you do not need to be untanned for this procedure. However, if you are experiencing sun burn, you will want that to settle before we work on the area.

What should I plan for down time after ISR?

Day 1-4 you may experience redness, swelling, tightness and/or the feeling of being sunburnt. You will want to avoid all things hot: sauna, hot tub sweating etc. Do not use Advil, Aspirin, Aleve (non-prescribed blood thinning medications) for 24 hours. You can gently shower 12 hours after the procedure. To the eye the treated stretch marks will appear healed by days 3-7, though, it is normal in this time for the area to become dry, flakey and possibly some scabbing. Be sure to use sunscreen if the treated area will be exposed to the sun.

Who is not an ideal candidate?

Pregnant or nursing women, anyone with chronic skin conditions, infections or skin cancer in the area being treated. Those who are prone to keloid scars (if not in the treatment area, a patch test can be done) or have used accutane in the last 6-12 months. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

I am prone to hyper pigmentation when I heal from pimples, scratches, or other injuries, can I have ISR?

If this is the case or you are unaware and skin type Fitz 4, 5 or 6, this could be a part of your healing experience. A patch test will help us determine if Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH) is an outcome for you and if following a PIH protocol will allow for desired results.

Will my stretch marks completely go away?

Stretch marks will never completely go away, ISR will only improve the appearance and texture of the treated area.

If you are interested in ISR please contact me to schedule an in-person consultation so we can create a plan especially for you.
